Our guest today is Matthew Burk. Matt founded Fairway Financial Services, Inc. in 1992 and has led Fairway’s investment team for more than 25 years. He began his career in real estate finance in 1986 after graduating from the University of California, Davis with a degree in economics. His extensive experiences as a real estate lender have provided him with wide-ranging exposure and deep expertise in a broad array of real estate asset classes, as well as private money lending, distressed debt acquisition and disposition, and open- and closed-ended 506 Regulation D funds.

Matt is widely recognized as an expert in the specialized field of middle market real estate asset-based alternative investments and pooled investment funds. He has consulted, mentored and advised hundreds of real estate entrepreneurs and sponsors around the United States and leveraged those relationships to identify and procure deals for Fairway’s investment business. Matt also authored the seminal book on capital raising for real estate entrepreneurs, Capital Attraction.
